Your parked car is not a doghouse

As the dog days of summer bring scorching temperatures, pet lovers should remember that hot dogs belong on the grill – not in parked cars.

While it’s never a good idea to leave your pet alone in the car – even for a quick errand – at this time of year, it’s especially dangerous.

A parked car can become an oven in the sun, even in mild temperatures. If it’s a pleasant 21 degrees outside, the temperature inside a vehicle can rise to almost 32 degrees after just 10 minutes and reach triple-digit temperatures after half an hour.

Studies show that opening windows has no significant impact on the rate of temperature rise.

Unlike humans, dogs cannot sweat and do not regulate their temperature as efficiently as we do. This makes them particularly vulnerable to heat stroke, which can be fatal.

Be a responsible pet owner this summer when it comes to your best friend. And if you see a distressed animal in a parked car, call your local animal control agency or police immediately—you could save a life.

So wrong with Trump

During the first years of Donald Trump’s presidency, I was gullible.

I made the mistake in many comments of claiming that Trump’s sins were largely due to his policies and political ideology. How wrong I was.

As we watch the recent criminal trial in New York and Trump’s daily untruthful – and incessant – response to it, we now know that his sins are one of indecency, inhumanity, selfishness, and a lack of morality.

I never thought I would say this, and no doubt some will attack me for it, but for those who still support Trump, no matter what he says or does or how many convictions he receives, their souls are on the line.

This includes nearly all Republican members of Congress who, despite ongoing criminal proceedings against two Democratic politicians and President Biden’s son, falsely claim that the New York trial against Trump was purely political in nature and orchestrated by Biden and the Justice Department.

Make no mistake. You can pray as much as you want, it will not lessen your responsibility.

Like Trump, we all bear responsibility and will be judged by our actions.

A clear pattern is emerging

By now, we’ve all heard the news that Donald Trump has been found guilty on all 34 counts of falsifying his company’s business records in order to withhold information from voters that he knew would harm his 2016 presidential campaign.

This is not just about hush money payments. It is about breaking the law to hide the truth from the American people eleven days before a presidential election.

Trump is lying to the American people and trying to undermine our elections to stay in power. He still faces three other indictments and 54 criminal charges, including a federal charge of inciting an insurrection to overturn the 2020 election. Despite all of this, he is still running for president.

Donald Trump is a convicted fraudster and criminal who remains a massive threat to our fundamental freedoms. We cannot allow him to hold the highest office in our country in 2025. It is up to all of us to hold him accountable and defeat him at the ballot box in November.

His “crime” is that he won

For those of your readers who claim that former President Trump is a convicted criminal, the only crime or crimes he committed are winning the 2016 presidential election and running as the Republican presidential candidate in 2024.
