According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration, regional gasoline prices fell for the second week in a row, averaging $3.40 per gallon of regular gasoline on Monday, down from the previous week’s price of $3.42 per gallon.
The average fuel price in the New England region has fallen by about 14 cents since last month. According to the EIA, gasoline prices across the region last year were as low as $3.07 on January 22, 2024, and as high as $3.78 on August 21, 2023.
A year ago, the average price of gasoline in the New England region was 4% higher at $3.54 per gallon.

The average price of gasoline in the United States last week was $3.44, putting prices in the New England region about 1.3% below the national average. The average national price of gasoline is up from last week’s average of $3.44 per gallon.
Prices in the New England states, as determined by the U.S. Energy Information Administration, include Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont.
