NAD Electronics launches the C 700 V2 BluOS streaming amplifier

Latest generation of the compact, value-oriented “just add speakers” solution C 700 V2, updated with ESS Sabre DAC, MM phono input, Dirac Live Ready and Dolby Digital decoding.

There has been a lot to see in the realm of high-performance streaming options over the past few weeks. And not to be outdone, NAD Electronics has announced the launch of the C 700 V2 BluOS Streaming Amplifier. Building on the success of its successful predecessor, the C 700 V2 offers significant improvements in performance and functionality, with the aim of cementing its class-leading position in the elegant, value-oriented “just add speakers” category. The C 700 V2 features an upgraded ESS Sabre DAC, MM phono input, Dolby Digital decoding, Dirac Live Ready and IR remote control. The NAD C 700 V2 will be available from authorized retailers in late August 2024 for a suggested retail price of $1599 US / €1599 / £1499 / CAD$2199.

The NAD C 700 V2 BluOS streaming amplifier represents a significant improvement over its predecessor, positioning itself as a modern, versatile solution for high-resolution music streaming in multiple rooms, says its developer. With the integration of an advanced ESS Sabre ES9028 DAC, the amplifier promises a refined listening experience characterized by greater precision and depth. This upgrade, together with NAD’s HybridDigital UcD amplifier technology, ensures powerful and clear sound reproduction that will satisfy both audiophiles and music lovers, says the manufacturer.

One of the notable features of the C 700 V2 is its integration of stereo and surround sound capabilities. The ability to switch to a 4.1 Dolby Digital surround setup with BluOS-enabled rear channels and a wired subwoofer extends its versatility, making it suitable for both music and home theater applications.

“The NAD C 700 V2 BluOS streaming amplifier sets a new benchmark in its category, combining high-resolution multi-room streaming, versatile connectivity and intelligent features in a compact and stylish package,” commented Cas Oostvogel, Product Manager at NAD. “Building on NAD’s rich heritage of innovation and value, the C 700 V2 offers a compelling, high-quality all-in-one music streaming amplifier with modern conveniences.”

The NAD C 700 V2 streaming amplifier is now Dirac Live ready, offering users the ability to unlock advanced room correction features with the purchase of a Dirac Live license. Using a calibrated microphone (sold separately) and the Dirac app, users can precisely tune their speakers to enjoy music and movies as originally intended from anywhere in the listening room. The C 700 V2 stores up to five Dirac Live profiles to adapt to different setups and room conditions.

The NAD C 700 V2 has everything you need to play music, all you need to do is add speakers. The additional MM phono input is a notable improvement for vinyl enthusiasts who can now enjoy their records with precise RIAA equalization and low noise. The extensive connectivity, including HDMI eARC, bi-directional aptX HD Bluetooth and Apple AirPlay 2, offers flexibility for different devices and enhances the amplifier’s integration capabilities into various entertainment systems. It also features USB Type A for music playback and connecting an optional calibration microphone.

BluOS streaming and multi-room functionality are at the heart of the C 700 V2, providing access to over 20 popular music streaming services, thousands of internet radio stations and local digital music libraries. Compatibility with major home control systems and voice assistants such as Alexa and Siri adds additional convenience.

The design of the C 700 V2 also deserves attention: it has a high-resolution color display and a solid aluminum housing that exudes a high-quality and minimalist aesthetic. The user-friendly control via the BluOS Controller app as well as the included remote control and compatibility with other IR remote controls ensure simple and intuitive operation.
