Two accused of murdering Chaviz Nguyen still at large

SPRINGFIELD, Missouri – Police are still searching for two men accused of murder in connection with a fatal shooting in November 2023.

Arshaun Bradley, 20, and Quartze Washington, 18, are both wanted in the fatal shooting of Chaviz Nguyen in downtown Springfield.

Chaviz Nguyen’s family is asking the community to keep an eye out for both men.

“If you see these two suspects, please call the hotline,” said Chea Nguyen, Chaviz’s father. “These two must be caught.”

It was just seven months ago that, according to police, a group of young men shot at Chaviz Nguyen’s car, killing him and injuring his pregnant girlfriend.

Five people have been charged with murder, but only three of the suspects are behind bars.

Chea Nguyen says he is grateful to the Springfield community for their support, but he cannot rest until all suspects are arrested.

“It is very touching and I feel very flattered that the community cares about our family. At the same time, we also want the two suspects to be caught,” said Chea Nguyen.

According to police, Washington and Bradley were identified as passengers in the car used in the shooting. Chea Nguyen considers them both extremely dangerous.

“They are out here, you know, they are very dangerous, they committed murder and ran away,” said Chea Nguyen. “We cannot let them roam the streets like this.”

Washington is 6’1″ tall, has brown hair and brown eyes, and a tattoo on his neck. Bradley is 5’7″ tall and has several tattoos on his left arm.

Cris Swaters, spokesman for the Springfield Police Department (SPD), says anyone who calls the Crime Stoppers hotline with information about these suspects will remain completely anonymous.

“We don’t know who is calling and giving these tips, and of course there is a reward associated with it,” Swaters said. “If you give a tip that leads to the arrest of a fugitive, we will pass that information on to Crime Stoppers and Crime Stoppers will put you in touch with the person who gave that tip.”
