Antonio Carmelo caught with several open beers in his car – Scoop: Nashville



Antonio Carmelo, 20, was observed as “suspicious” at the intersection of School Lane and Weaver Drive at 1:50 a.m. on June 27. Officers arrived and noticed Carmelo’s vehicle running, so they approached him. Upon looking inside the vehicle, officers saw that he had open alcoholic beverage containers in his center console and floor. Officers had him exit his car, reporting that he smelled of alcohol and showed signs of intoxication. Carmelo admitted to drinking three of the four beers they found in his car before and during the trip. They asked him to take field sobriety tests, which he agreed to and performed poorly. He was arrested for the incident and agreed to provide a blood sample after being informed of his implied consent. Carmelo was transported to Nashville General Hospital and taken into custody for driving under the influence.

Antonio A. Carmelo, of Arrogate Dr in Antioch, TN, was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail on June 27, charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. A judicial commissioner set his bail at $2,000, and the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office released him from the jail prior to trial.
