“A long-held vision has become a reality”: Neenah Animal Shelter opens new facility and holds ribbon cutting ceremony

NEENAH, Wis. (WFRV) – The Neenah Animal Shelter opened a brand new facility Friday, making a long-held vision a reality.

The new facility is located in the 2400 block of Progress Court in Neenah. Officials held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on June 28. Public tours were also held Friday to showcase the state-of-the-art facility.

Neenah Animal Shelter’s new facility is approximately 6,000 square feet and includes an examination room, operating room, quarantine rooms, expanded indoor dog and cat areas, adoption rooms, a conference room, office space, and approximately 900 square feet of covered indoor/outdoor kennel space for dogs.

There is also an enlarged outdoor terrace, a so-called “catio”, where cats can have fun, as well as outdoor areas for well-socialized cats.

According to official information, this building is more modern and comfortable for the animals housed in the shelter.

“We have long needed a new facility,” said Mary Setton, board president of the Neenah Animal Shelter. “It’s great for the community, the animals, the staff and the volunteers that we are finally making a long-held vision a reality.”

Operations will be relocated to the new facility in early to mid-July 2024.

The previous facility was located in the 900 block of County Road G.
