••• Santa Barbara Art Essentials is moving later this year: “Our current space downtown is becoming an expanded Christ Presbyterian Church and we were forced to look for new space.” We hope they find somewhere downtown; businesses like this bring so much life to a city. (Thanks to F. for the tip.)

••• “Any idea what the Classic Charter buses are that are constantly driving up and down Hot Springs Road?” asked E. They transport Music Academy of the West scholarship students between campus and Westmont College, where they are housed during the summer festival, which runs through early August.

••• Two more Santa Barbara Bowl shows have been announced: the Santa Barbara Mariachi Festival (August 3) and (Oxnard’s own) Anderson .Paak and the Free Nationals (September 26).

••• October 4 at the Arlington Theater: “A mesmerizing blend of musical exploration and pure emotion, André 3000’s live performances of New Blue Sun showcase his unique artistry. Onstage, Carlos Niño, Surya Botofasina, Nate Mercereau and Deantoni Parks will collaborate with the group’s masterful instrumentation, captivating audiences with the same approach that founded New Blue Sun – inspired by the present moment and alive in tune with the environment.”

••• December 17 at the Lobero Theatre: “Classic Christmas songs come to life when (Montecito’s own) Jane Lynch, Kate Flannery, Tim Davis and the Tony Guerrero Quintet take the stage in this hilarious and heartwarming holiday spectacular. A wonderful blend of comedy and music that makes for a lively good time.”
