The Sebastian equivalent of Hogwarts Legacy 2 should make a house his home

Hogwarts Legacy is one of the greatest success stories in modern gaming, having sold 22 million units in 2023, although it is an ambitious game for a developer still proving its skills in this area. For the most part, it succeeded in immersing players in a well-realized version of the world of Harry PotterBeing assigned to a house and finding a place in the legendary school has been a wish of fans for years, and 2023 was the year that wish became a reality.

Each of the four houses has unique traits and bonuses, be it the side quests or the more subtle inclusions that help to better tailor the experience to the player’s choice. However, Ravenclaw has generally come up short, and so the sequel to Hogwarts Legacy summoning a great supporting character in Ravenclaw could remedy the perceived imbalance.

The Ravenclaw house of Hogwarts Legacy was the weakest

Of the four houses in Harry PotterRavenclaw is one of the most overlooked houses, although it is one of the most interesting. It was named after Rowena Ravenclaw and is home to characters such as Luna Lovegood, Gilderoy Lockhart and Cho Chang. It is a house that encourages wit, learning and wisdom. For many, it is a house that is not as memorable or respected as Gryffindor or Slytherin, but its characteristics are just as compelling, so it is no wonder that many Hogwarts Legacy The players chose it in the early stages of the game.

Players meet Amit in astronomy class, where Amit gives the player his old telescope, which they can use to search for astronomy tables around the world.

Unfortunately, the consensus seems to be that Ravenclaw is the least rewarding house in Hogwarts Legacy. Each house gets its own supporting character to get to know, be it Sebastian in Slytherin, Poppy in Hufflepuff, or Natsai in Gryffindor, and although Ravenclaw students get to meet Amit Thakkar of Ravenclaw, it feels like an afterthought in comparison. Amit is simply not as interesting as his contemporaries and does not accompany players on their exclusive quest. Compared to the game’s best supporting character, the experience in Ravenclaw does not reach the same level, so Hogwarts Legacy 2 could fix the problem by giving the blue house the best companion.

Sebastian’s story in Hogwarts Legacy is a highlight

Poppy Sweeting and Natsai Onai’s storylines are entertaining diversions, but Sebastian Sallow’s journey rivals even the main campaign for good exposition. Watching him go down a dark path and decide how far to go with him is masterful, and the familial aspect of his motivations makes him one of the few truly great and complex characters in the game. Ravenclaw wasn’t treated that way in. Hogwarts Legacyso not only would it make up for it by giving something back to the many players who chose it, but it would also feel like an effective addition to the first game rather than a remake.

Instead of selecting a house in the game, players can also link their Harry Potter Fan Club and WB Games accounts in
Hogwarts Legacy
to use the house to which they have already been assigned.

Ravenclaw’s basic personality traits are fascinating and could serve as a starting point for some exciting narrative moments. Like Sebastian’s desperate attempt to become more powerful, Hogwarts Legacy 2 could use clues such as the pursuit of knowledge or an obsession to answer a complicated question as a primary motivator, which would still be in keeping with the Ravenclaw path. To continue Sebastian’s outstanding story in Hogwarts Legacybut tarring it with the Ravenclaw brush would give the overlooked house the deep history it deserves, while also further developing one of the true highlights of the first game.
