All films coming to Netflix in July 2024

With summer in full swing, many will be outside enjoying activities, sports, meeting up, or just lounging in the sun (maybe with a drink). However, if the heat gets too much or you want to treat yourself to a quiet day, a movie on your favorite streaming service can be a nice little break from the busy summer heat. Fortunately, alongside the launch of many new TV series – for fans of hot reality TV series – Too hot to touch Season 6 is out and drama fans can’t wait to see more Cobra Kai Netflix offers a new series of original films.




While most of the early attention will be on a popular franchise and a long-awaited sequel, the month is full of treats. In keeping with the summer theme, this month features two extreme sports documentaries and a wild comedy from Germany about a family game night gone wrong. Anime fans can also rejoice, as there’s a new film from Studio Ponoc coming exclusively to Netflix. Here are all the original movies coming to Netflix in July 2024.


Beverly Hills Cop 4: Axel Foley

Streaming on July 3


Axel Foley (Eddie Murphy) returns to Beverly Hills after his daughter Jane’s (Taylour Paige) life is threatened. To investigate the case, he teams up with a new partner, Detective Bobby Abbott (Joseph Gordon-Levitt), and receives support from his old friends Billy Rosewood (Judge Reinhold) and John Taggart (John Ashton). Together, the four uncover a conspiracy within the Beverly Hills Police Department that is connected to the threats against Jane.

It has been 40 years since the original Beverly Hills Cop became a huge sensation with critics and at the box office and 30 years after the last part of the series, Beverly Hills Cop III. The wait has certainly been long, as the fourth part was originally planned for 2016. Will Beverly Hills Cop 4: Axel Foley worth the wait? We certainly hope so! Regardless, you can expect the film to trend on Netflix and become the most talked about original streaming film in July. Beverly Hills Cop 4: Axel Foley will stream on Netflix on July 3rd.


The Imaginary

The Imaginary tells the story of Rudger, an imaginary friend invented by a young girl named Amanda to share in her imaginative adventures. After her father’s death, Amanda confides in Rudger and they spend their days in the attic, escaping into a fantasy world. However, the two are separated when the evil Mr. Bunting, a hunter of imaginary friends, takes Amanda away, leaving Rudger alone to find his friend in a vast landscape created by the imaginations of many children.

With original series making up more than 40% of their streaming library, it’s only natural that there are so many great Netflix original series.

Parents of younger children may find the premise of The Imaginary known as it is based on the novel of the same name by British author AF Harrold and illustrator Emily Gravett. Consequently, the anime feature film combines the beautiful imagery of Japanese anime with classic storytelling about the power of imagination and the loss of childhood. Studio Ponoc may still be a younger studio, founded in 2015 by Yoshiaki Nishimura (former producer at Studio Ghibli). Nevertheless, they are already building an impressive repertoire and have Mary and the Witches’ Flower And Modest heroesthat follows the same creative storytelling approach and characters as Studio Ghibli. The Imaginary will stream on Netflix on July 5th.


Goyo

Streaming on July 5

Goyo, a young autistic museum lover, is obsessed with the world of Van Gogh and lives his life according to a strict schedule based on his work as a guide for the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes in Buenos Aires. This is disrupted when he develops a crush on a colleague and recently divorced Eva. The two begin a relationship that drastically changes both of their lives. Eva finds an unlikely chance at romance and Goyo devotes himself to his artistic talent, inspired by his new muse. The Argentine romantic comedy, Goyoappears to be a heartwarming love story with two eccentric individuals at its center. Goyo will stream on Netflix on July 5th.


The game is to blame

The German feature film by Marco Petry, touted as a crude comedy, revolves around a night full of chaos. The game is to blame follows Pia and her new boyfriend Jan as they prepare for family game night, all while under pressure for Jan to impress her ambitious family. However, when Pia’s ex shows up, the stakes for game night are raised and the family clashes with Pia and her new boyfriend. Not much is known about this Netflix original yet, but the trailer provided by Netflix suggests that it’s a pretty messy comedy that will surely get some people watching. The game is to blame will stream on Netflix on July 12th.


Find me falling

Streaming on July 19

Aging rock star John Allman, played by Harry Connick Jr., sees his career in decline after a planned comeback album falls through. He takes a step back and reconnects with his creative roots in the country. But due to his popularity, the peaceful respite he hopes for is soon interrupted by others seeking his attention, limiting his chance for quiet time outside the industry. It seems the musician can’t catch a break, but John finds unexpected inspiration when he reunites with an old flame.


Regardless of what you think of Netflix’s continued commitment to romance, Find me falling continues the trend of recent titles such as Mother of the bride And Irish Wish climbs to the top of the charts. For fans of the genre, there is plenty to be excited about. As director Stelana Kliris emphasizes in a statement: “This is a love story about many kinds of love: romance, family, life’s dreams and what you are willing to sacrifice for the people or things you love” (via CBN) If you are looking for a bit of summer love, with an attractive leading man in Harry Connick Jr., you should definitely watch Find me falling. Find me falling will stream on Netflix on July 19th.

Skywalkers: A Love Story

Streaming on July 24


Skywalkers: A Love Story follows two Russian skywalkers, Vanya Beerkus and Angela Nikolau, who were competitors in the scene and then fell in love. The film highlights their global triumphs, which saw them scale iconic buildings in Paris and Bangkok. The documentary also covers their subsequent struggles with COVID-19 and the Ukraine war, which made it difficult for them to access their passion and put a strain on their relationship. In a desperate attempt to turn things around, the pair take on the challenge of illegally scaling the Merdeka 118 tower in Kuala Lumpur, with the perilous climb serving as the crux of the film.

Mountain Queen: The Peaks of Lhakpa Sherpa follows the inspiring story of Lhakpa Sherpa, the first Nepali woman to climb and survive Mount Everest, breaking records and gender norms in the process. While the documentary touches on her story in the mountains and in her community, it focuses on the Nepali mountaineer as she prepares to break another world record and become the first woman to climb Mount Everest for the tenth time.

Capturing a pretty amazing life on camera, the story of Lhakpa Sherpa has long inspired women around the world. She broke through societal constraints to become a successful mountain climber and world record holder. Her conquest of the dangerous but breathtaking Everest mountains will captivate audiences when the film hits theaters in late July. Mountain Queen: The Peaks of Lhakpa Sherpa will be streamed on July 31st.
