What is a Nargacuga in Monster Hunter Stories?

The Nargacuga is a Flying Wyvern in the game. The in-game description reads: “Flying wyverns that are terrifyingly fast when hunting prey. They are particularly adept at moving stealthily.” These Monsties have amazing speed (in fact, they are some of the fastest in the game). They also have a decent attack, making them perfect for those who want to deal damage quickly. The Monstie has a speed bias, which makes sense given its speed. It also has strengths against water elements, but is weak against thunder elements.

Additionally, they are excellent at hiding and remaining invisible, which is reflected in their different abilities. Here is a breakdown of these abilities:

Riding Action – Stealth: “Move without being detected. During the duration, other monsters cannot see you. However, stealth does not work if you have already been seen.”
Kinship Skill – Dark Thrash: “Launches a slash attack while unseen by the enemy.”

Eggs from Monster Hunter Stories – Nargacuga

The Nargacuga can be found in the Ponder Hills area that is one of the first places players go to. However, it is one of the toughest Monsties there, so they should be cautious and only attempt to take it on later in the game. To get one, players must bring the Monstie back so they can follow it back to its lair. To do this, players must use the Paintball Gun to shoot it or capture it within 3 turns of defeating it. Once this is done, they can follow it back to the monster lair and find one of its eggs.

For players with the Cave Protector ability, they have a higher chance of it retreating. This ability in particular increases the chances of retreating. The picture above shows what the Nargacuga eggs look like.
