WASHINGTON CITY, Utah (ABC4) — The suspicious double murder that taken into custody on Wednesday morning after an hours-long manhunt was arrested on 11 different felony charges in connection with the deaths of her parents, according to arrest records obtained by ABC4.com.

Mia Bailey, 28, was arrested on numerous crimes, including six counts of discharging a firearm (all first-degree felonies), two counts of aggravated murder (both first-degree felonies), one count of attempted aggravated murder (a first-degree felony), one count of aggravated burglary (a first-degree felony) and one count of discharging a firearm (third-degree felony).

The identities of the victims were not immediately released to the public after Bailey’s arrest, but documents confirmed that the two victims were Bailey’s mother and father.

According to the affidavit, Bailey said she had no remorse for her actions and was quoted as saying, “I would do it again. I hate her.”

A neighbor’s security camera caught Bailey arriving at her parents’ home on June 18. Arrest documents show Bailey admitted to entering the home and shooting her mother almost immediately.

According to an affidavit, Bailey went to the home Tuesday night with the intent to kill her parents. According to the documents, she shot her parents multiple times and then returned to their bodies to “make sure” they were dead.

It was clear that Bailey’s brother, who also lived in the house with his wife, was the person who called authorities about the shooting.

After murdering her parents, Bailey allegedly went downstairs and fired shots at the locked door behind which her brother and his wife were hiding. According to the documents, the couple heard a gunshot as they tried to escape through a ground-floor window.

In an interview with officials, Bailey “openly admitted” that she illegally entered her family home to kill her parents, according to the affidavit. According to the documents, she also “openly” described her hatred for her brother and spoke of “strained relationships” with other relatives.

Bailey reportedly fled the scene and was initially tracked down in St. George shortly before 1 a.m. Officers ordered Bailey to stop, but documents say she pulled a handgun from her waistband and put it to her head as she walked away from officers.

She was later found in an open field around 8 a.m. Wednesday and arrested after leaving her position. Bailey allegedly boasted that she had evaded police officers by jumping fences, hiding in bushes and sleeping in a park restroom.

The documents noted that Bailey was in the process of undergoing gender reassignment surgery from male to female and had officially changed her name and gender.
