Eyelash-adorned minivan collides head-on in three-car crash at JWP

A head-on collision involving three cars blocks John Wayne Parkway near Alterra Parkway.

At about 3:30 p.m., a white, eyelashed Toyota Sienna minivan traveling north on John Wayne Parkway collided head-on with a black Nissan Titan pickup truck traveling northbound.

A gray Toyota Camry crashed into the rear of the minivan. Airbags deployed in the minivan and sedan, and the driver of the sedan was taken to a fire truck.

The Maricopa Fire and Medical Department responded with a fire truck; the Maricopa Police Department responded with four patrol cars and ambulances were seen at the intersection at 3:45 p.m.

Northbound traffic on John Wayne Parkway is closed and detoured to the shoulder. Southbound John Wayne Parkway is unaffected, but the intersection with MLK Jr. Boulevard to Copper Sky is closed.

At 4 p.m. a tow truck arrived
