Bridgerton tops Nielsen streaming charts; Tires makes the original list

Bridgerton In the week after the first four episodes of the third season appeared on Netflix, more than 2 billion minutes were viewed again.

The Shonda Rhimes series was by far the most-streamed title from May 20-26, Nielsen reports. Ratings were down from the third season’s premiere weekend, but that was to be expected since only four new episodes were available, and although some viewers rewatch older episodes after the new seasons launch, the biggest increase in ratings is likely due to the new episodes.

Nielsen also pointed out Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story saw a spike in viewership during this time. During this period, it narrowly missed the Originals list with 215 million minutes watched, but that is essentially four times the viewership it had just two weeks earlier. This suggests that new episodes of Bridgerton has kept audiences engaged with the franchise while waiting for the second half of season three.

Another notable entry in the Nielsen charts was Tiresthe comedy series by Shane Gillis and Steve Gerben, which was released in cinemas on May 23. In the first few days, it reached number 5 on the Originals list with 330 million minutes of viewers. Compared to the figures of Bridgertonit’s pretty impressive for a six-episode series, given that it’s neither tied to any major intellectual property nor features a major star cast.

In the movie, Atlas And Dune – The Desert Planet: Part 2 took the top spots. The former was number one with 795 million minutes watched, and also number five overall. According to Nielsen, more than half of the viewers were multicultural, including 29% Hispanic and 20% black viewers.

As for Dune – The Desert Planet: Part 2The film premiered on Max on May 21, reaching 711 million minutes of viewership and securing 9th place on the overall list.
