Jesse Plemons has “a lot more energy” after losing 50 pounds

Jesse Plemons talks about how his life has been changed by his new health.

“I’m not going to carry around 50 pounds anymore,” said Plemons, 36 Entertainment tonight at the premiere of his new film, Types of kindnesson Thursday, June 20, adding that he lost the weight “over the course of about a year and a half” after trying intermittent fasting.

Plemons and his wife have sons Ennis (6) and James (3) Kirsten Dunstfurther told the outlet that his children were a driving force in his decision to pursue a healthy lifestyle.

“I have a lot more energy (now) and like I said, I have young kids so I have to keep up with them,” he added.

“It’s really unfortunate that I decided to get healthy when everyone decided to take Ozempic,” the actor said. “It doesn’t matter, everyone will think I took Ozempic anyway.”

Ozempic, a type 2 diabetes drug designed to improve blood sugar control, has become popular among celebrities due to its effectiveness in weight loss. Tracy Morgan, Heather Gay, Chelsea Handler and other celebrities have spoken out about taking the injectable drug.

Plemons noted that the catalyst for his weight loss was a combination of “getting older” and visualizing his role in it, and explained how he approached the lifestyle change.

Ozempic has become a hot topic when it comes to weight loss – some stars confirmed they have taken the drug while others denied it. Chelsea Handler admitted in a January 2023 episode of the podcast “Call Her Daddy” that she had unknowingly taken the drug for type 2 diabetes, which is traditionally used to improve (…)

“Several people talked to me about intermittent fasting and I just tried it and was surprised at how quickly it worked,” he continued. “So I lost a little bit of weight before I did that part and then I felt like I was in the rhythm, I felt better and something changed in my head. I just kind of got a handle on it.”

This role was a brief cameo in the dystopian war thriller Civil Warin which he played an ultranationalist militant. Dunst, 42, played photojournalist Lee Smith in the film.

After losing weight, Plemons said he was fired for a role in Types of kindnessin the director Yorgos Lanthimos wanted the “larger” version of the actor. However, Plemons was able to convince the 50-year-old Lanthimos that he could do the job despite his slimmer frame, and he was eventually cast in three roles.
