How to get and use the Star-Lined Sword in Elden Ring – Destructoid

Finally there is a weapon that brings together all the bleed and magic builds I have tried. Elden Ring. The Star-Lined Sword is a new katana in the Shadow of the Earth Tree DLC, and you can pick it up almost as soon as you arrive in the Land of Shadow.

Intelligence builds that still want to wield a weapon most of the time will love this one. Here’s how to find the Star-Lined Sword in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Earth Tree.

Location of the Star Sword

The Star Sword is wielded by a field boss named Half-human Queen MariggaTo get to her, start at the Cerulean Coast West Site of Grace, and from there, walk around the rubble to the north into a narrow canyon. Continue along this passage until you come to a fork, then turn left. After just a little more walking, you should reach a rise and see a new stretch of coastline swarming with demihumans.

Some of the demihumans are larger than the regular ones, but Queen Marigga should still be easy to spot as she towers over everyone. Before you go into battle against her, save yourself a headache by taking out as many individual demihumans as you can. Queen Marigga isn’t too difficult to defeat on her own, especially if you’ve picked up some Scadutree Fragments. She mainly uses melee attacks that you’ll need to dodge, and occasionally she’ll throw some Glintstone Pebbles at you. Riding Torrent trivializes the fight as you can circle around her almost faster than she can prepare an attack against you.

How to use the Star Sword

The Star-Lined Sword is essentially wielded like a regular katana. You can use it one-handed to free up one hand for spellcasting, or you can hold it with both hands and do some serious damage. You have a fairly long reach when using the weapon, and it’s best to find opportunities to get multiple attacks in, as this will allow you to make the most of the weapon’s bleed effect.

Onze’s Star Line should help with this. His attacks are extremely fast and unlike the name suggests, he doesn’t attack in a straight line at all. Using this ability will cause your magic weapon to whip all around, and while it’s not an AoE effect, it should help you take out enemies when you’re surrounded. Keep improving your Dexterity and Intelligence and remember to upgrade the sword with Dark Forgestones and you should be good to go.
