How to unlock Heaven-on-High in Final Fantasy XIV – Destructoid

There are a total of three Deep Dungeons in Final Fantasy XIV and if you’re looking for a way to grab exclusive weapons or rewards, these are a great option. Once you get into Stormblood, you’ll soon be able to unlock the level 61 Heaven-on-High.

Unlike the Palace of the Dead, where you go deeper and deeper underground as you progress through each floor, the 100 floors of Heaven-on-High are visible in the overworld as a huge, seemingly endless tower in the sea of rubies.

However, just because you can see it doesn’t necessarily mean you can enter it once you get to the base. You’ll need to meet a few requirements before you can start your ascent to the skies:

  • Complete the MSQ quest “Tide Goes In, Imperials Go Out” at level 63.
  • Complete level 50 of the Palace of the Dead.

Once you’ve done both, you can unlock Heaven-on-High by speaking to Hamakaze in the Ruby Sea (X:6.2, Y11.7) and accepting the quest “Knocking on Heaven’s Door.”

Once you unlock Heaven-on-High, you’ll gain access to the first 100 floors. As with all Deep Dungeons, you can only reach Heaven-on-High by physically traveling there and speaking to the NPC guarding the entrance.

To enter Heaven Above, you must go to the Ruby Sea and speak to Kyusei (X:21.4, Y:9.2).

Before you can progress past level 30 of Heaven-on-High, you must complete the quest “On the Shoulders of Giants,” which you can accept from Kyusei once you’ve completed floor 30.

You can then enter Heaven-on-High on the 31st floor provided you meet the following requirements:

  • Start on floor 1 or 21 and complete floor 30
  • Achieve this without ever wiping out the party

After that, provided you have a Heaven on High save file that meets the above requirements, you will have the option to enter the 31st floor when speaking to Kyusei.
