Maricopa Police are investigating a four-car crash on Maricopa’s main thoroughfare Thursday evening.
Police and firefighters responded to North John Wayne Parkway and Cobblestone Farms Drive South around 10:30 p.m., said public safety spokeswoman Monica Williams InMaricopa.
Paramedics were seen pulling a person from a damaged Pontiac Grand Prix at the intersection and placing him into an ambulance.
A Nissan Altima had landed on the median north of the intersection. It had rear damage and appeared to have decorative light and a Gabions in the median.
A Toyota Camry had its rear bumper removed and was left standing south of the intersection. A Kia Sorrento parked on Cobblestone Farms Drive also had rear end damage.
“One driver was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries,” Williams said. “The accident appears to have been alcohol-related and a drunk driving investigation is ongoing.”
Southbound State Route 347 was closed between Cobblestone North and Cobblestone South. Traffic was detoured through residential areas.
