Katie Ledecky, one of the most successful swimmers of all time, wants to extend her success record by taking part in the Olympics for the fourth time.
Their quest for another Olympic appearance begins this weekend at the U.S. Olympic Swimming Qualifiers at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.
The 27-year-old has already won ten Olympic medals, including seven gold, and currently holds the fastest times in all the events she will compete in at the swimming qualifying events. If she makes it to Paris, Ledecky would have a chance to overtake Jenny Thompson, who has won the most gold medals and the most medals by a female swimmer in Olympic history.

Katie Ledecky’s swimming competitions at the US Olympic swimming competitions
Ledecky is expected to compete in the 200m, 400m, 800m and 1500m freestyle events. She is the world record holder in both the 800m freestyle and the 1500m freestyle.
On the shorter distances, Ledecky finished second behind Claire Weinstein in the 200m at the 2023 national championships, marking the first time she had lost the race to an American in nine years. Weinstein, then just 16 years old, won the race by two hundredths of a second.
The swimming qualifiers for the US Olympics will be a good reference point before Ledecky heads to Paris to defend her titles.
