The local animal shelter offers its pets for a fun evening

LEWISBURG, WV (WVNS)–Love is in the air in Greenbrier County. The perfect date who loves long walks, cheese platters, and resting in your arms in a field of wildflowers is just waiting for you!

The Greenbrier Humane Society hosts Doggy Date Day after the popular Doggy Date Night became a huge success. Kissing on the first date is a must and lots of cuddling. You could also bring one of the shelter’s animals available for adoption to your afternoon picnic.

Kirstin Cole, Community Officer at GHS, said: “On Doggy Date Day we want to highlight the animals in our care and raise funds for all of them. From 11am when we open our doors we will be offering car washes on a donation basis. From 5pm it’s our Doggy Date Night so that people can come along and get to know our residents a little better.”

Doggy Date Day is Saturday, June 29, 2024, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. No-strings-attached Doggy Date Day can be a great way to take your dating game to the next level.

You can get your car washed at the shelter for a small donation, enjoy free food thanks to a local business, and have a fantastic evening helping shelter animals spend some time outdoors. Just don’t be surprised if a “toe-dragging” companion ends up stealing your better half.

For more information on how you can help shelter animals adjust to life outside the shelter, how you can have your car washed by shelter staff, or how you can join in on a special date night with a sweet third wheel on the wagon, visit the Greenbrier Humane Society’s Facebook page or website.
