A new car wash company planning to open its first six locations in the state of Florida will open one of those locations in southeast Ocala.
Zoom Express Car Wash plans to open its first location in Ocala at 3450 Southeast Maricamp Road next to the Sonic Drive-In.
The car wash company is owned by the Kirby family, which plans to open six locations in Central Florida initially. In addition to Ocala, the company will open car washes in Orlando, Maitland, Sanford, Lake Nona and Okeechobee.
According to the company’s website, Zoom Car Washes will use reclaimed water, environmentally friendly chemicals and “state-of-the-art technology to minimize water usage” as part of its goal to be the “cleanest car wash in Central Florida.”
“At Zoom Car Wash, we don’t just wash cars; we pioneer environmentally friendly practices,” says a statement on the company’s website.
Zoom Car Wash also states that its car washes are designed to allow customers to get in and out quickly in “just 3 minutes.”
Once opened, the new car wash will be less than a mile from the original RaceWash location, which opened over a decade ago in 2013. The one-mile stretch of road between the two car washes has seen a variety of commercial developments in recent years.
Last year, OLA Drive-Thru Coffee opened its second location in Ocala at 3233 SE Maricamp Road.
In 2021, Starbucks opened a new location at 3537 Maricamp Road.
In 2020, Wawa opened its fifth location directly across from RaceWash at 3080 SE Maricamp Road.
Just north of RaceWash, a new 7-Eleven opened its doors at 2590 SE Maricamp Road late last year.
