13.45: Interstate 70 has reopened after a car fire near Idaho Springs on Friday morning, June 28.

CoTrip.org reports a 90-minute delay for eastbound travelers due to traffic congestion caused by the hours-long closure.

11:30 am: Due to a vehicle fire, Interstate 70 is closed in both directions near Floyd Hill.



The accident apparently occurred in the westbound lanes, causing a full closure, according to CoTrip.org and traffic cameras. The eastbound lanes are currently closed between the I-70 Business Exchange and Exit 243 for safety reasons. The westbound lanes are closed between Exit 243 at Hidden Valley and Exit 244.

According to the Colorado Department of Transportation, the incident will cause a delay of approximately 30 minutes.

Motorists are advised to seek an alternative route.
