Motorcyclist killed in collision with car: Bridgeport police

The motorcyclist was 36 years old.



BRIDGEPORT, CT — Police say a motorcyclist was killed in an accident Friday afternoon.

At 4:03 p.m., emergency crews responded to a collision between a motor vehicle and a motorcycle at 1376 Stratford Avenue.

Firefighters attended to a motorcyclist who suffered serious injuries, police said. The motorcyclist was taken to hospital.

“The accident scene has been reconstructed and a preliminary investigation has been completed. A gray 2017 Volkswagen Passat was found to be traveling northbound on Carroll Avenue and was driven by a 34-year-old man from Easton, Connecticut,” police said in a news release. “The Volkswagen Passat attempted to cross the intersection of Carroll and Stratford Avenues and was struck by a white 2005 Honda CBR600 motorcycle traveling eastbound on Stratford Avenue. The white 2005 Honda CBR600 was driven by a 36-year-old man from Bridgeport, Connecticut.”

The motorcyclist later died in hospital, the driver of the Passat suffered minor injuries, police said.
