A video circulating on the Internet showing Israeli soldiers using a wounded Palestinian as a human shield in Jenin was further evidence of the US’s double standards. The US State Department was forced to condemn the incident.
But unlike the condemnation of the Palestinian Hamas when it was accused of this very crime, the United States urged Israel to conduct its own investigation, which logically Israel will not do.
One of the most well-known accusations against armed groups in the Gaza Strip, which has been used to justify Israel’s killing of Palestinian civilians, is that they use human shields.
Despite these claims, which are routinely repeated in every war on Gaza, human rights groups have not found a single case of Hamas using human shields.
On the contrary, Israel has been repeatedly found to have used Palestinian civilians as human shields.
