Two shootings and an intentional car crash occur in Ithaca on Friday

ITHACA, NY (WETM) — Police say there were two separate shootings and an intentional car crash related to one of the shootings in Ithaca Friday afternoon.

According to Ithaca police, a shooting occurred in the 400 block of Adams Street at about 1:35 p.m. on June 28, and a second shooting occurred about 20 minutes later in the 100 block of West Village Place. Police said they found shell casings and bullet holes at both locations. There are no known victims in either shooting.


Later that afternoon, police were called to a car crash in the 300 block of Third Street at 4:04 p.m. According to police, one vehicle involved intentionally drove into the other vehicle, and this crash was related to the Adams Street shooting.

Police say the shootings and the accident were not random and that the people involved in each incident appear to know each other. Ithaca police are currently investigating all three incidents and criminal charges are pending.
