Employee dies, two others injured in accident at Flagship Carwash in Fairfax

FAIRFAX CITY, Virginia (DC News Now) — Fairfax City police said one person died and two others were injured Saturday morning after they were struck by a car.

Police said they were called to the parking lot of the Flagship Carwash in the 10800 block of Fairfax Boulevard just before 11 a.m. Police were told three employees had been struck by a car.

An investigation revealed that after exiting the car wash, a customer first rammed a nearby car in the parking lot and then struck a group of employees. One of the employees suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to Fairfax Hospital.

Martha Clemencia Nguyen, 62, of Fairfax, succumbed to her injuries.

The other two employees suffered injuries, but these were not life-threatening.

The driver was still at the scene of the accident, police said.

Mayor Catherine S. Read said in a statement:
