Dodgers use massive comeback in extra innings to win over Giants

The fact that the Los Angeles Dodgers were able to win the game in San Francisco on Saturday says a lot.

First, Tyler Glasnow had to leave the field after allowing five runs in just three innings. Second, Daniel Hudson had to get out of a bases-loaded, one-out situation in the second half of the 10th inning when the game was already tied. By forcing the game to 11-11, the Dodgers left no doubt about the final result.

After scoring a hit in the 10th inning, Seven against Giants relief pitcher Sean Hjelle. It was an inning that began with an intentional walk by Shohei Ohtani. From then on, things went steeply uphill.

Facing a 2-0 count, Will Smith brought in both Ohtani and ghost runner Enrique Hernández to give LA a 9-7 lead. Freddie Freeman also added a double to give the team a three-run lead. After a single by Teoscar Hernández, Chris Taylor brought in Freeman. Jason Heyward then scored on a triple for both Hernández and Taylor before being sent home on a sacrifice fly by Miguel Rojas.

Ryan Yarbrough made short work of San Francisco in the bottom half of the period, sealing the win with a final score of 14-7.

That’s as tough as it gets for a team with a seven-point lead. By overcoming an early deficit and working through a tight 10th inning, the Dodgers avoided a loss in the Bay. Instead of trying to take just one game out of the series, they’ll now go for the series win with James Paxton on Sunday.
