Jasmine Moore secures a place in the Olympic squad in the long jump, Valby takes second place in the 10 km run

EUGENE, Ore. – Jasmine Moore made history on the seventh day of the U.S. Olympic Track and Field Trials. Moore, who had already won the U.S. triple jump championship on the second day of the Olympic Trials, took second place in the long jump a week later. Since she had already achieved the Olympic standard in this discipline, Moore had now qualified for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris in two events.

Moore is the first woman in American history to qualify for the Olympics in both the long jump and the triple jump.

After a fourth place in the 5000m run, Parker Valby rebounded with a second place in the 10,000m. Valby, who has not yet set an Olympic standard in this event, will have to wait until the official Olympic squad is announced to see if she can go to Paris. Regardless, Valby showed great strength throughout the race and battled with the leaders the whole time, trailing them by just 0.49 seconds at the end.

Current Gators Claire Bryant, Robert Gregory And Grace Stark also took part in the competition on Saturday.
