Las Vegas police have arrested 35-year-old Jason Kendall in connection with the death of a woman who was initially found unconscious in a hotel room on June 12.
Unresponsive woman found in hotel
According to a Las Vegas police press release Saturday, officers responded to Spring Valley Hospital around 6:10 p.m. on June 12 after the woman was admitted with possible assault injuries.
Authorities determined the woman was found unconscious in a hotel room in the 4300 block of West Flamingo Road. Although the specific hotel was not named, the Palms is located at that address.
Critical condition and tragic outcome
The woman’s condition remained critical until June 21, when she unfortunately succumbed to her injuries.
Metro takes over investigation – suspect identified
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) Homicide Unit took over the investigation and identified Kendall as the suspect responsible for the woman’s death.
The Clark County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the deceased woman at a later date.
There are several charges against Kendall
Court records show that Kendall is charged with first-degree murder, sexual assault and assault by strangulation with intent to commit sexual assault.
Kendall’s first court appearance was Saturday and he is currently being held at the Clark County Detention Center. He is scheduled to have another court hearing on Tuesday.
This case is a stark reminder of the importance of reporting suspected cases of domestic violence.
