How to watch the F1 race today

All eyes are on Max Verstappen this weekend as he seeks his eighth win of the season and solidify his commanding lead in the championship at the 2024 Austrian Grand Prix. The race begins at 9 a.m. Eastern on Sunday and will be broadcast on ESPN.

If you’ve canceled your cable TV but still want to watch, you can watch the race for free on streaming services like FuboTV (free trial) and DirecTV Stream (free trial). Sling TV is also an option, as it offers special pricing for new customers.

F1 fans can also stream the race on ESPN+. While the service does not offer a free trial, those interested can sign up for an account for $9.99/month.

Verstappen goes into this race with a 69-point lead over Lando Norris, having dominated three of the last four events. The Red Bull Ring, which hosts 71 laps of high-speed action, was the scene of Verstappen’s triumph last season. In another major development, Verstappen has put an end to any rumours of a potential move to Mercedes, confirming his commitment to Red Bull until 2025.

Red Bull remains alert to the threat posed by Lando Norris and McLaren and is aware of the competitive nature of the short laps at the Red Bull Ring.

Looking ahead to this weekend, McLaren and Lando Norris are considered strong contenders, especially given their performance in Spain. The car’s ability in high-speed corners could challenge Verstappen’s dominance. In addition, Mercedes and Ferrari are also expected to be competitive, with the Red Bull Ring’s layout promising close qualifying laps and plenty of overtaking opportunities.
