In an indoor market, traders can sell whatever the weather

TUCSON, Ariz. (KGUN) — A Tucson resident wanted to give entrepreneurs a way to sell their wares no matter the weather, so he started Tucson Trades. The twice-yearly indoor market is held during the winter and summer at the Tucson Convention Center at 260 S Church Ave.

This year’s summer market took place on Saturday, June 29th, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Founder and event coordinator Travis Freeman hosted the market for the first time last year – and says the market has doubled in size since the first time.

He wants to not only create a space for vendors during the off-season, but also a free indoor event that the community can participate in.

His goal is to fill more and more areas of the TCC with providers of all kinds.

“You’ll find literally anything that people can make. You’ll find art, you’ll find food, different crafts… everything under the sun,” Freeman said. “This is all about the local entrepreneurs. So we really make sure that our market is more focused on the local community than some of the big corporations that are out there.”

The next market is planned for January 2025.
