Jamestown police find man with arrest warrant on bicycle downtown

(WJET/WFXP) – Police in Jamestown, NY, noticed a man on a bicycle who had warrants out for his arrest.

On Saturday at approximately 4:55 p.m., Jamestown Police officers were in the area of ​​East 3rd Street and North Main Street and identified a 42-year-old Jamestown man riding a bicycle on a sidewalk who had an active arrest warrant.


Officers activated their lights and sirens to signal him to stop, but he then fled on his bicycle and was pursued onto Pine Street and toward an alley in the area.

He was then pursued on foot by officers toward East 4th Street and shortly thereafter taken into custody.

The man was found to be in possession of sublingual films of Suboxone, which is considered a controlled substance.

In addition to the arrest warrants, he was charged with resisting arrest, illegal possession of a controlled substance and traffic violations.

He was held pending arraignment and taken to the Jamestown City Jail.
