Samsung’s 990 EVO 2TB SSD is now only $129 – one of the lowest prices ever

Today at Amazon, the Samsung 990 EVO 2TB SSD is discounted to one of its lowest prices ever. It debuted with a somewhat unreasonably high MSRP of $239, so it’s exciting to see it listed for a price of just $129. This SSD is notable in terms of compatibility, as it can work with PCIe 4.0 x4 and PCIe 5.0 x2 interface modes. No expiration date has been confirmed for the discount so far, so we’re not sure how long it will be offered at this price.

We took the opportunity to review the Samsung 990 EVO 2TB SSD in February of this year and found it to be a good experience overall, giving it 3 out of 5 stars. The performance was fully in line with our expectations, although it didn’t stand out due to the high price. While it lacked a bit in terms of energy efficiency, its performance and flexibility made it a more worthwhile investment.

This Amazon offer is for the Samsung 990 EVO 2TB, but a 1TB capacity one is also available. Both drives in this range have an M.2 2280 form factor and work with PCIe 4.0 x4 and PCIe 5.0 x2 connectivity. They are based on a Samsung Piccolo controller and can reach read/write speeds of up to 5,000/4,200 MB/s.

When you buy the 2TB Samsung 990 EVO, your hardware is backed by a 5-year Samsung manufacturer’s warranty. However, if you reach 1,200 TBW, your warranty may expire before the half-decade is up. This M.2 SSD is also backed by Amazon’s 30-day return policy. Visit the Samsung 990 EVO 2TB SSD Product page on Amazon for further details and purchasing options.
