FOR MONTHS we waited for the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster at Disney World to reopen and counted the days until we could ride it again.
This is the second time in the last two years that the attraction has been closed for an extended period of time and we were thrilled to hear that it would be opening EARLY on July 1st. However, another surprise awaited us: the ride opened even EARLY today, June 30th!
When we visited the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster on June 30th, we were surprised to see how busy it was. After watching for a moment, we actually realized that the ride was open!
There was not a very long queue for the attraction, as it seemed to be a gentle openingmeaning Disney World has not advertised that the attraction is open. In fact, it has not been listed as open in the My Disney Experience app or online.
When we entered, We have not noticed any major changes to the attraction or themeas expected.
But that also meant Rock Around The Shop, the merchandise location at the end of the ride, is open again! It seems that the goods in the store are similar to those before.
Some of it is themed around the attraction itself, but we also noticed some Stitch items and more general Disney World items.
The ride officially opens on July 1st, so if you missed it today, don’t worry! However, be prepared for longer wait times than usual as the attraction reopens after months of closure.
