2 seriously injured in head-on collision on Randall Road in Algonquin – Shaw Local

According to Algonquin Police, two drivers were seriously injured in a head-on collision on Randall Road in Algonquin on Saturday evening.

Algonquin Police responded to a 911 call at 9:43 p.m. Saturday regarding a two-vehicle crash near the intersection of Randall Road and Harnish Drive.

A preliminary investigation revealed that a white sedan was traveling south on Randall Road from Bunker Hill Drive when it veered out of control, struck a curb, crossed the median and collided head-on with a dark-colored SUV traveling north, according to an Algonquin police news release. Another car sustained collateral damage in the crash.

Both drivers were taken to a hospital by the Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District with serious injuries, the press release said.

While police investigated the crash, the northbound and southbound lanes of Randall Road between Harnish Drive and Bunker Hill Drive were closed for approximately four hours, the release said.

The accident is currently under investigation by the Algonquin Police Department and the Kane County Accident Response Team. Anyone who witnessed the accident is asked to call the Algonquin Police Department at 847-658-4531.
