I was thinking about participating in the AEW Injury Report Show

AEW CEO Tony Khan says he is considering launching an injury report show, but highlights some of the challenges involved.

The AEW roster has been plagued by many injuries lately. Kenny Omega, Adam Copeland, Adam Cole and Britt Baker are among those injured.

Speaking of Wrestling Observer RadioTony Khan was asked why AEW sometimes doesn’t disclose injuries. He stressed how difficult it is to make them public. Khan also mentioned that he is thinking about starting an AEW injury report show. (H/t Ian Carey of F4WOnline.com)

“Sometimes it’s because people have private medical issues,” Khan said. “Sometimes I don’t want to give away too much information about what’s happening to someone. Sometimes, to your point, we could probably communicate it more clearly.”

“I was thinking about doing an injury report show, and I had other ideas about doing something like talking about injury reports for social media. And I think the most important thing is to make people feel comfortable. I don’t want to talk too much about people’s injuries if they don’t want to, but some of them are related to a wrestling match.”

Tony Khan further noted that he did not want to give away too much information, especially since some people keep their injuries confidential. He pointed out that with some injuries, those affected may not want to talk about them.

“Some injuries people may not want to talk about,” Tony Khan said. “There are things where people are very sensitive about the injuries they had to overcome. Sometimes it’s not a positive memory, those injuries can be a really painful memory for the wrestlers. But to your point, there are probably times when I could communicate it better, we should communicate it differently.”

WrestleZone will cover the AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door broadcast on June 30th.
