The next television series from the Big Bang Theory Franchise is Georgie & Mandy’s first marriageThe series, which will air this fall on CBS, picks up shortly after the events of Young Sheldonafter Georgie by Montana Jordan and Mandy by Emily Osment.
In a recent interview with ET, Osment spoke about the upcoming spinoff. She talked about how she actively tried to get Jerry O’Connell involved in the series, perhaps as the series’ narrator. This would tie in with The big Bang Theoryin which O’Connell made a guest appearance as an older version of Georgie Cooper. Jim Parsons voiced the adult Sheldon as narrator for Young Sheldonand that could pave the way for O’Connell to tell Georgie & Mandy’s first marriageas Osment suggested.

“I meet Jerry O’Connell so often in my neighborhood, who of course plays the older Georgie, and I’m trying to figure out how to get him back somehow. Maybe he’ll be the narratorshe said, also giving an update on the spin-off’s progress. “I haven’t actually read anything yet, but we’re starting pretty soon and we’re still in pre-production.”

Osment and O’Connell recently appeared together in a video that was a hit with fans of The big Bang Theory And Young SheldonWhether this will ultimately play a role for O’Connell in Georgie & Mandy’s first marriage remains to be seen. So far, very little has been revealed about which actors other than Jordan and Osment will be seen in the title roles. In addition to the two main roles, it is also known that Will Sasso and Rachel Bay Jones will return as Mandy’s parents after playing the characters in Young Sheldon.

“I think we’ve always talked about this new show being a continuation of that world,” executive producer Steve Holland told TVLine about separating the new spinoff from its predecessor. “It’s important to us that it creates its own identity and not just Young Sheldon Season 8 – part of the move to multi-camera is that it has its own identity – but at the same time, these people are a family and they live in the same town. We always hope that they’ll show up in that world and that those stories will continue in some form.”
Georgie & Mandy’s first marriage will premiere on September 1, 2024 on CBS.
