Remember the days when you could get a mattress for what felt like a few dollars?
Well, those days are over, as one IKEA customer discovered to her annoyance.
The cost of everyday items has risen so much that even an IKEA mattress now seems unaffordable for some.
TikToker Jules (aka @ustolemysandwich) went to the Swedish furniture store to buy the same mattress she bought in 2021… and that’s where the problems started.
But she was stunned to see that the price had increased by almost half compared to what she had originally paid!
It may have been just a mattress – but to Jules it symbolized MUCH more!
She explained that she had originally purchased the mattress and dresser for one of her children.
Back in 2021, in the good old days, the mattress cost $179 and the dresser cost $129. Today, the same mattress costs $249, she explained, and the dresser costs $219 – nearly $90 more.
Wild!
She did the math and found that the mattress was 40% more expensive, but the dresser was now 70% more expensive.
She said: “This is just another example of why being an adult in 2024 is so expensive.”
Soon we will have to pay for oxygen and then the price will increase every year according to our consumption.

This is what people thought about the clip:
The wrong ending to the song!
Ethical concerns regarding inflation.
Good question! Will the White House answer it?!
It’s literally everywhere.
And we are tired of politicians trying to fool us into believing how “good” everything is now.
