LeBron is a “much better” player than Jordan

When it comes to the LeBron James vs. Michael Jordan debate, count Hall of Fame member and two-time NBA champion Isiah Thomas on Team LeBron.

Thomas, whose Detroit Pistons beat Jordan’s Chicago Bulls in back-to-back Eastern Conference finals en route to the 1989 and 1990 titles, appeared on ESPN’s “Get Up” on Monday to weigh in on the debate.

“I say this with no disrespect to Jordan,” Thomas began. “But what I see and observe in LeBron James is a complete basketball player who dominates this era. I haven’t seen anyone in our league do that except for two guys, and that’s Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Bill Russell.”

“…If you just talk about a basketball player, a complete basketball player, LeBron James is a much better basketball player than Michael Jordan.”

James shined on Sunday night, totaling 35 points, 15 rebounds, nine assists and two blocks. He played every minute as his Cleveland Cavaliers defeated the Boston Celtics 87-79 in Game 7 to advance to the NBA Finals. It is James’ eighth consecutive Finals appearance.

His Cavs will face the winner of Game 7 in the Western Conference finals between the Golden State Warriors and the Houston Rockets on Monday night.

James has won three NBA championships so far, half of Jordan’s six.
