EP announces Redemption and new track list

Similar to his Shell Game, The price is correct brings variety to the game. The producers of the long-running CBS game show are preparing a new themed episode and even an episode on the topic of redemption.

In the past, The price is correct has themed episodes for holidays like Christmas, Halloween and April Fools’ Day, as well as events like the Super Bowl, the Grammy Awards and NCAA March Madness. And viewers can expect at least one new topic in upcoming episodes.

“We’re changing it up,” executive producer Evelyn Warfel told TV Insider during our last visit to the set. “This year we’re doing Galentine’s (Day).”

The price is correct is also preparing for a “Redemption” episode, Warfel teased. What exactly does that mean? Will former contestants get another chance at the Showcase Showdown? Details are scarce – Warfel only said that it is a concept that has “never been done before in the 51-year history of the show.”

The producers also hold The price is correct exciting with its wide variety of games, from Any Number to Vend-O-Price and everything in between. “We have 79 games for a reason,” Warfel explained, referring to the options that are kept in storage when not in use on set. “When you turn on the show, it feels different every time.”

Despite the variety of games and the upcoming changes, The price is correct remains true to the format that has entertained audiences since 1972. “For me, it’s important to keep the nostalgia,” Warfel said. “The reason people tune in year after year is because they remember what it made them feel, what point in their life they were at when they watched — for example, at one of their grandparents’ homes or sick at home at school. We do our best to still remind people of that with every change we make.”
